YELLOW PARTY BOX

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Approx size – 15cm long, 10cm wide and 10cm high with an additional 5cm to the handle : In these days of recession saving money is a top priority for most people. When it comes to hosting a party for your child then staying at home rather than booking a venue can reduce costs considerably.

No two birthday parties will be the same. Every child is differerent and they will have their own ideas as to how the party should be organised. This is not quite the case for younger children but even then you should be prepared to do something a little different to make the party unique.

Because there are traditional elements to a child’s birthday party, such as games and blowing out candles, you do not have do do amything big or expensive to give the party a “twist”. It can be as simple as getting the children to make their own party bags.

Before you start planning the party, here is what is expected, in general terms, by age

1st Birthday Party
The child will have no expectations as to what should happen so the format of a 1st birthday party is totally up to the parents.

2nd Birthday Party
At 2 years of age the child will certainly enjoy all the fuss and attention. They will get tired easily and the party will not last long. Again it will be up to the parents whether or not any guests are invited. A few decorations auch as balloons and banners are all that will be required.

3rd Birthday party
Children of 3 years and upwards understand the concept of a birthday party and many will have attended the party of a friend. The key to a successful party for this age is plenty of adult supervision. Also don’t forget the party bags.

In the next few posts we will have more on this topic

Throughout this blog we will be drawing the readers attention to specific products, in fact each post will start with one. They will mainly relate to children’s birthday parties, including, 1st birthdays, but each post wll also include some general tips and pieces of information that parents will find useful.

TIMETABLE FOR CHILDRENS PARTIES

For parents facing their first “round” of childrens parties getting a handle on the flow of activities can be a bit hit or miss, particularly for the first few parties.

If you are planning a party in your own home then here is a timetable guideline. Total time is 2 hours.

15 Minutes – Greet guests and introduce everyone.

15 Minutes – Gift Opening. This can be skipped over if you prefer. Generally the guests are not that interested in watching the birthday boy girl opening presenets. It can be best just to keep the pressies safe in a seperate room.

30 Minutes – Games and activities. This section needs to be planned well in advance and the more adult help you can get the better

20 Minutes – Food and Cake. Don’t expect the kids to sit still and take their time. You will be lucky if this lasts for 20 minutes

30 Minutes – More games. You may want to hire a professional entertainer. If you do it is more than likely that the duration of the party will need to be extended

10 Minutes – Final games and handing out of party bags
