No two birthday parties will be the same. Every child is differerent and they will have their own ideas as to how the party should be organised. This is not quite the case for younger children but even then you should be prepared to do something a little different to make the party unique.
Because there are traditional elements to a child’s birthday party, such as games and blowing out candles, you do not have do do amything big or expensive to give the party a “twist”. It can be as simple as getting the children to make their own party bags.
Before you start planning the party, here is what is expected, in general terms, by age
1st Birthday Party
The child will have no expectations as to what should happen so the format of a 1st birthday party is totally up to the parents.
2nd Birthday Party
At 2 years of age the child will certainly enjoy all the fuss and attention. They will get tired easily and the party will not last long. Again it will be up to the parents whether or not any guests are invited. A few decorations auch as balloons and banners are all that will be required.
3rd Birthday party
Children of 3 years and upwards understand the concept of a birthday party and many will have attended the party of a friend. The key to a successful party for this age is plenty of adult supervision. Also don’t forget the party bags.
